How to Recover iPod Music Files Accidentally Deleted Or Lost From Corrupt Or Formatted iPod

iPods have become an integral part of many people's lives , they are an extremely valued and cherished possession for most people. We store most of our media on our iPod device including all of our songs, videos or photos that we consider as meaningful, and it is a collection that we amass over an extended period of time. So what the hell are we supposed to do when all that data disappears before your very eyes because it gets accidentally deleted or lost? Is there any way to recover iPod music files if they have been lost due to a corrupt or formatted iPod or have been accidentally deleted/lost?

Well if you somehow managed to delete or lose all of your favorite songs, videos or photos of your iPod I think you will be pretty happy to know that they haven't been permanently deleted or lost and can still be recovered. Even if your iPod is frozen, corrupted, been formatted or you accidentally hit the iTunes restore button, you can still recover all of your music and other files. With the aid of good iPod recovery software it is possible to restore all of your music files very easily these days, however success depends more or less on how quickly you act!

You must act quickly due to the fact that when you delete or lose a file from your iPod it isn't actually permanently erased from the hard drive. What actually happens is that the space that was occupied by that particular file is now available as free and re-useable space. So until that space is re-used and overwritten by a new file (songs, videos, photos etc.) your music and videos are still there and can be easily retrieved. Therefore you must act fast and try not to upload any new songs or videos onto the iPod, because any new data you put on the iPod could possibly overwrite your previous collection.

How to Recover iPod Music Files Accidentally Deleted Or Lost From Corrupt Or Formatted iPod

Here are some common situations that many iPod users face who wish to recover Songs from their iPod:

- You plugged your iPod into a computer, iTunes started up and you watched all the music and files on your iPod suddenly disappear.

- Or you re-installed windows plugged your iPod in, let iTunes start up and all the songs were gone.

- Or another classic case is you connected your iPod to a friend's computer, iTunes started up and all your songs were gone and you were updated with your friend's tunes.

All these problems occur due to the iTunes auto sync feature, which is an option in the iTunes software. What happens when auto sync is enabled is that when you plug in your iPod to the computer it automatically updates the files on your iPod with whatever is in the iTunes library on the connected computer. It is a stupid feature if you ask me, and it has caused much grief for many iPod users around the world.

- Other common situations are if you accidentally hit the restore button in tunes and formatted the iPod. Or if the iPod is frozen and displays an Exclamation Mark and Folder Icon or it simply doesn't start at all.

So if you are stuck in some of the above predicaments then don't worry, you can still recover your lost songs, videos, and pictures from your iPod if you act quick enough. The files are recoverable due to the fact that your iPod doesn't overwrite the songs and videos straight away, so until you upload the iPod with any new files all of your old music, video and photo collection can still be recovered.

Therefore if you wish to recover iPod music files that have been lost because your iPod is corrupt or formatted then you must obtain a good iPod recovery software, and you should have all your favorite songs back in no time. The good news is that most of these software's offer a free download so you can test them out and see if your files are recoverable at absolutely no cost.

Magicjack Installation Instructions

Making long distance calls can now be cheap and easy. Magic Jack is available through the official company website or in many stores. In just a matter of minutes after receiving or purchasing your MagicJack, you will be able to install it and begin making calls. If you haven't bought a MagicJack yet, or are a little confused as to what to do, these instructions will make installing it a breeze.

In the package, you will see that you have the USB device and a USB extension cord. If you have an a/c powered USB hub, you may also use that to plug the device into. I recommend using the a/c powered USB hub if you cannot plug in the magicjack directly into a USB port on your computer. This will help you avoid some problems later on.

After that, all you need to do is to plug your phone line into the device. Wait a few minutes while it automatically downloads the software for you to be able to make phone calls. When it is finished, you'll see a softphone screen pop up on your computer to help you make phone calls. You may also dial a call by using your phone.

Magicjack Installation Instructions

The softphone screen can be used for dialing numbers. It also keeps a log of the numbers you have called, as well as having an address book where you can keep frequently called numbers. It also has send and hang up buttons to push to start and end your calls. You may also start a call by just picking up your phone and dialing, then hanging up when you are finished talking. The softphone screen also has links to click on to access 411 pages, Yahoo, Google and your voice mail. It will also import your favorites from Internet Explorer. The softphone screen can be minimized when you are not using it, but you cannot make it go away, it will always be on your desktop.

If the device is not working perfectly for you, go to the official Magic Jack website and download the magicfix. Your computer will also periodically download updates as they are needed for this internet phone.. Magicfix can also be accessed through a button on your softphone screen.

You can call any landline or cell phone with your magic jack in the United States or Canada, you're not limited to only calling other magic jack users. You may also pick out any area code you wish, and can change your phone number at any time.

How to Use Free Dynamic DNS Services For DVR Connection

In my last article "Setup Internet Connection To Digital Video Recorder Behind Router" we have talked about Internet connection setup to security DVR, based on static IP. I assume that anyone reading this article is not that much fortunate, and could not get static IP connection from Internet service provider (Don't worry, you are not alone). IP numbers just like a phone numbers are being rapidly depleted and some ISP have taken appropriate actions to insure that pool of IP addresses will be available for extended future. It is the main reason, why some companies decided to allocate static addresses to commercial accounts only. In some cases the only available high-speed provider is the Cable Company. Cable DSL does not offer static IP at all but it has higher speeds.

So, what do we do?

There are several different options, but in this tutorial I will focus on the free alternatives. Before I go into the details, lets look at DNS term. DNS is Short for Domain Name System or Server; it takes IP address as input and tries to mach it to known domain name. In our case we are going to use dynamic domain name services to update our IP address as it changes and assign that IP to given domain name. Than we use that domain name to access our security DVR.

How to Use Free Dynamic DNS Services For DVR Connection

Option 1:

For stand-alone security DVR the recommended alternative is to use Linksys WRT54G Router, which has DDNS support. First go to and setup free account, with the account info available, login to the Router and go to DDNS page. Select dyndns.com for the service provider and type in account password. After saving the Router will send IP updates to your dyndns.com account and despite your dynamic IP the connection will always be forwarded to you current IP.

Option 2:

For PC based surveillance DVRs, if DVR doesn't have its own DDNS support, please go to the same service provider at and again account has to be setup, but in this case instead of using Router for updating we will download updater software. The updater software is more reliable than Router updater, but it needs computer running at all times. That is why updater software is more practical in PC based DVR, as it will run non-stop. Both options are completely free and will allow us to be able to access surveillance DVR with dynamic IP.

GOOD LUCK!

Windows Vista Update Error? Heres How Fix It

Are you affected by the Windows Vista Update Error problem? This happens when you are trying to update Vista and instead of working like it should, you receive an error 8000FFFF. So, whats the deal with the Vista update error and what exactly does 8000FFFF mean? Read on to find out more about the cause of this annoying little error and how you can fix it.

The Vista update error problem has been widely reported by Vista users. Its most often found on computers with 4GB or more of ram, but can occur on other configurations as well. There are two main causes of this problem, corrupted Software Distribution folder and corrupted Registry Entries

Technology Update

In order to solve the problem, here are some troubleshooting tips and suggestions that have worked for others:

Windows Vista Update Error? Heres How Fix It

Solution #1) Rename the "SoftwareDistribution" Folder

First step here is to turn off your Automatic Updates. You can do this by navigating here:

Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Administrator Tools -> Services -> Automatic Updates Service, then select the "General" tab. Click to stop Automatic Updates.

Next, you will need to navigate to your "C:" drive and look for a folder called SoftwareDistribution. Rename this folder to something else.

Last, you can navigate back to the screen from the first step and turn Automatic Updates back on. This can sometimes clear this error and allow updates to continue.

If that fails, the problem is probably in your Windows registry...

Solution #2) Clean The Registry and Repair Corrupt Elements

For this solution, you will need to download and install a Vista compatible registry cleaner. for your convenience, there's a link at the bottom of this article for a free download of RegCure (my favorite).

After you install your registry cleaner, you will need to let it scan for errors. There can be hundreds or even thousands of these errors on your PC, so don't be shocked when it reports a healthy number.

Next, give the software permission to repair those errors automatically. There is an easy step by step wizard for you to follow. After you set it to run, take a short break and give it a few minutes to work at cleaning and repairing your registry.

When it's finished, you can reboot your computer and find out if this cleared the 8000FFFF Vista update error. If it's still not working, theres one last thing that you can try.

Solution #3) Re-Run Failed Updates

In a few cases, locating and re-running failed updates may clear up the problem. You can do this by opening:

Control Panel -> Windows Update -> View Update History

If you see failed updates, you can try to download the files and install them manually.

Top 5 Tools to Have in Your Marketing Tool Belt (Besides a Website)

"Imagine if you knew each of your company's prospects or customers as well as you knew your friends in college-you knew what they cared about, what they wanted in life, and every interaction strengthened your connection. In other words, it was a real relationship." ~ Steve Haase, Co-founder of ThoughtLead

What if there was a way to make that kind of solid and lasting connection online?

Technology Update

Welcome to Integrated Marketing.

Top 5 Tools to Have in Your Marketing Tool Belt (Besides a Website)

The term "integrated marketing" used to mean having print, radio, television, and outdoor advertising - and a website. Wow - if you had that, you were clicking on all eight cylinders!

Then along came social media and email marketing.

As someone who has wholeheartedly embraced online, email, and social media as a means of engaging with and staying connected to my prospects, clients, and business colleagues since 2002, I can tell you firsthand that updating and integrating your online and offline marketing efforts creates the kind of results that traditional marketing alone simply cannot produce.

People ask me all the time, "How did you become so knowledgeable about social media and online marketing?" This is a reasonable question, since my formal education predates the current technology - which you probably already guessed, based on that "eight cylinders" analogy earlier! And, believe me, I would have much preferred to have been able to simply call someone in and have them bring my company into the 21st century but, frankly, at the time, there was no one to call. So, the answer to the question is, "I had to become my own online marketing consultant!"

Over the past eight years, I've taught myself a lot - through books, online research, seminars, webinars, and brainstorming with fellow marketers and mentors - and I'd like to share with you the "best of the best" when it comes to online marketing.

I'm going to assume you already have a website because it is, after all, 2010. So - beyond that - here are the Top 5 tools in my own marketing tool belt, which I recommend you embrace wholeheartedly, as we enter the second decade of the New Millennium:

1. Facebook Business Page. I'm always astounded at how many people still think of Facebook as an online hangout for college students and their younger siblings. Facebook is evolving and growing at an astounding rate, having recently surpassed the 500 million user mark (over 100 million of them in the U.S.). The largest segment of Facebook users is the 35-54 age group, at approximately 30 percent. And the fastest growing demographic on Facebook? Those 55+ years of age, a cohort which grew by a whopping 922% during 2009!

Do you want to attract, engage, and ultimately do business with any of those people?

2. eNewsletter. I launched my first email newsletter in March 2003, and I've never stopped using this medium to maintain connections with my prospects, clients, and business colleagues. What are my Top 5 Reasons to continue? Reason #1: Because 65-75 percent of all new business that comes my way comes from here.

I don't believe I need the other four reasons.

3. Twitter Account. Tweeting sounds so... juvenile. And yet, there are some very good reasons to use it for business, such as: monitoring your brand to garner valuable feedback, keeping tabs on the competition, engaging your customers in conversation, or even choosing to use Twitter as a customer service channel.

Now who's kidding around?

4. YouTube Channel. YouTube is the second-largest search engine in the world (behind Google). But lots of people (myself included) have shied away from it, thinking they didn't know enough about video to join in. Here's the good news: you don't have to be Martin Scorsese to be successful. The most successful videos are authentic - letting you or your company's awesome-ness show is the best way to stand out! Here are some ideas for establishing your industry expertise and brand leadership: (a) Upload your best presentations and publish your most successful podcasts in a video format. (b) Shoot a quick interview with people who work in your company - or those who work with your company. (c) Create a "how to" video. (d) Post some honest testimonials from happy customers to add credibility to your brand.

Are you starting to see the possibilities?

5. LinkedIn Profile / LinkedIn Company Profile. Sometimes treated as the proverbial ugly red-headed stepchild among social media channels, LinkedIn has recently made some pretty useful changes, making it more worthwhile than ever to be there. Evolving from its formerly "static" state, there are now numerous ways it can "play nice" with Facebook, Twitter, your website and email marketing efforts. The new Company Profile feature (still in beta, but behaving well so far) is one of my new favorites, as it allows me to create individual pages for my various services and products, promote specials, and more.

At last... its name seems to fit its functionality!

6. Blogging. I know, I know... I said 5... but I always strive to deliver more than I promise! When Twitter's 140 characters just isn't enough and even Facebook seems a little confining - BLOG! It's where you can get a few things off your chest, flesh out an idea or concept, and allow your prospects and customers to get to know you on a different level - all great rapport builders! Less than an article but more than a post, blogging is my go-to option when I have more than just a couple of sentences or a link to share. And, of course, "teasing" your Facebook fans and Twitter followers with a link to your latest blog post - which, of course, links to your website, LinkedIn profile, and YouTube channel - well, that's what you're aiming for.

Of course, how they all work together (or not) is key. If you're doing all the "right" things and still not getting the measurable results you deserve, stop spinning your wheels and call in an expert. As someone who had no choice but to go it alone back in the bad old days, I can assure you the investment will be well worth it.

Insurance Write Off's - The Inside Story Of The Full Process

A vehicle is declared a total loss when the estimated repair cost is more than the present market value of a similar vehicle. Once the insurer decides that the vehicle is a write off then they take the steps detailed here.

1) The wreck will have been moved from the car repairers to a salvage yard. This is done to lessen storage costs imposed by vehicle repair shops for cars in their yards.

Technology Update

2) They will ask you for the vehicle documents. That is the MOT certificate if your car requires one, purchase receipts,V5 registration document, service records, keys and details of any outstanding finance. They will ask for your Certificate of Insurance to be returned. They will need the original paperwork before they settle your claim. Photocopies will be ok to start with but will slow down the process.

Insurance Write Off's - The Inside Story Of The Full Process

If you ask the insurers why they require these documents, they will probably tell you they want to check they have the right model of the car, that it possessed a valid MOT and proof of service record to make sure that is has been maintained. These are all appropriate reasons. However the insurers also need to check out your claim for fraud. Government documents have a number of anti-fraud measures designed by the issuing Government agency. A careful check on the originals will enable the claims official to establish quickly that these are indeed genuine documents and not fake. If there is doubt, they will use forensic science equipment to prove that the documents are fake or genuine. You would have to be a very clever crook to successfully forge this whole collection of documents. My advice is - let the company have the original paperwork as soon as they request them. Just sending copies delays your claim.

3) Whilst you are waiting for your settlement details, your insurers will be doing other things as well. They will enter the claim on the 'motor insurance anti fraud and theft register'. (MIAFTR) This is a UK data base that has recorded all insurance total loss cars and stolen cars since the start of the 1980's. It checks your vehicle against all the information in the database to see if it has ever been the subject of an insurance total loss before, or whether it has ever been stolen and not recovered. It checks against your name and address; post code; your car's registration number and VIN (vehicle identification number). If there is a match further questions will be directed towards you, and your insurance company might enter 'fraud investigation' mode.

MIAFTR also as a matter of course checks your car against the Hire Purchase Information (HPI) database. If you borrowed money to purchase the vehicle and you still owe money, it will be on this database. Have no doubt your insurance company will discover it. So be honest and tell them about your outstanding balance. The loan company is the rightful owner of your car. Any settlement will be made to them whilst there is an outstanding balance. Anything left over is paid to you. Similarly, your claim will be recorded on CUE (Claims and Underwriting Exchange). This happens as a matter of course on all motor and household claims. Not all insurers subscribe but the vast majority do.

Problems can arise where the outstanding loan is greater than the worth of the vehicle. In this situation the insurance policy does not completely pay off the loan. I remember a purchase plan for motor bikes. Teenagers went into a shop, bought a new motor cycle plus all the helmets, leathers etc with finance against the value of the vehicle. The interest on the loan was outrageously high. Some time later there would be an accident and they would total loss it (or it was stolen). The value of the motor cycle was much less than the combined purchase price plus the interest. It caused a furor which was blamed on the insurance company rather than the stupidity of the youngster for getting involved in such a bad deal with the shop.

4) Your insurance company will be obtaining bids for the wreckage. The higher the salvage value the less the final cost of your claim. There has been a lot of publicity about cars which have been written off reappearing on the road, or being purchased by criminal gangs to aid their disguise of a stolen vehicle. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) have come up with a code relating to the disposal of vehicle salvage. All member companies comply with these rules. The result is that most salvage is sold by the companies to established salvage merchants. If the vehicle is damaged to an extent that meets listed criteria, it will be issued with a code that requires the vehicle to be scrapped or broken up. Vehicles with less damage can still be fixed and put back on the highway.

5) Once all of the above processes have taken place your insurers will make a settlement proposal to you.

Their engineer will have consulted the trade publications to value the vehicle, adjusting these figures to take into account the age, condition and mileage of your car, and his knowledge of the current car market. The final total that he arrives at forms the starting point of the settlement value given to you. Any policy excess will have to be deducted along with any finance still outstanding on the vehicle.

Your insurance company will make it very clear precisely how much you will get and explain any adjustments to you. If you pay your car insurance by Direct Debit, the chances are that any remaining premium will also be deducted from the settlement amount.

6) When you have accepted the offer (some insurers might need your signature to a document called a 'form of discharge') you will receive a cheque.

7) Your insurers then own the remains of your car and, subject to legislation and those ABI codes, can do whatever they want with it. This will undoubtedly mean that they will sell the salvage.
